Introduction to Colour Managed Workflow
Introduction to Colour Managed Workflow is looking at the process of colour management in modern digital film production. From capturing motion pictures as digital images to the final delivery of digital master files.
While in the traditional, linear production process, colour grading was left until the end of the post-production process, a newly emerging approach is challenging this view. Colour management establishes and maintains the desired look for a production throughout the production process: from on-set monitoring, editorial and VFX to finishing and final mastering.
This course is introduction to the tools, technologies and processes of colour management in digital cinematography, explaining how colour management works on-set, post-production workflows and the best practices and common issues.
Introduction to Colour Science
The biggest secret for success as a colourist is understanding how to manipulate the viewer’s perception. To do this you need to comprehend the sensation that occurs when the brain is responding to stimulation from the colour receptors in our eyes. The experience of colour is different from person to person, yet humans were hardwired to perceive colour long before we mastered language. This course is designed for anyone interested in learning the anatomy of colour and gaining an in-depth understanding of how colour can take stories to the next level. You will learn about emotion and perception of colours, as well their scientific aspects.
Introduction to Digital Cinematography
This course is for anyone interested in learning about the art and science behind digital media manipulation. It covers everything from the basics of digital cinematography to the physical aspects of light. You will be introduced to everything from Isaac Newton's light theory, where the light is described as an electro magnetic wave, to quantum physics where light is explained to be both a wave and a particle. The course also covers the electro magnetic spectrum and why the brain is the most important organ in the human visual system.
