In this course, we will lay the foundation necessary to successfully proceed with the Master’s program. During Week 1, we will focus on essential technical skills, including understanding the color science of both digital and film cameras, fundamentals of color management, and mastering primary and printer lights. You will also learn how these elements function in CDL (Color Decision List) workflows within a show environment.

Moving into Week 2, the focus shifts to the creative side of color grading. We will explore color grading theory, understanding how color affects emotion, and how color can be a powerful tool for storytelling. You will dive into film emulation, study popular looks, and gain a practical understanding of node structures. We’ll also cover qualifiers, power windows, and finish with an introduction to mastering and exports.

By the end of this course, you will have a strong foundation to move forward into more advanced topics, including AI-driven workflows and feature film grading.
