Never Stop Learning
One question that we get asked most frequently is how to keep up with the mantra of continuous learning and where to look for resources that could help one acquire useful skills for further personal and professional growth.
Here we would like to share with you some resources that we would like to recommend.
‘Color Correction Secrets from Eric Whipp’ hosted by Filmmaker U
You can red a full review for this training here.
Darren Mostyn – YouTube Channel
I have known Darren from the days of Fast, which must have been more than 20 years ago, and back then, he was the same. Fun to listen and learn from and good at doing precisely that. Suppose one person on Youtube can claim that he is a professional colorist and professional tutor, then it is him. You might even start liking that fast cut page after seeing him use it.
Filmlight Webinars
If you are interested in color science, then you have to follow Filmlight Webinars, especially the ones done by Daniele Siragusano ( Italian name but German accent ). Daniele has an incredible skill to focus narrowly on a subject and explain incredibly complicated in a way that everyone can understand. Filmlight is undisputed no 1 when it comes to color science, and Daniele is one of the best people at Filmlight; and I have known him from the days of Bavaria Film Studios.
Team Deakins Podcast
Team Deakins does not only know how to make beautiful pictures but also how to make beautiful podcasts. They are my 5 am crew. On days that I get up early to catch up with work, I listen to them. It reminds me why I choose film and how much I love creating beautiful pictures. It does not get any better than this.
Colorist Meetups
What started as a monthly get-together has transitioned flawlessly into an online meetup with the guest list of who is in the color grading world. If you love color and love to learn from colorists, this Colorist Meetup is the place for you. Check out some of the highlights and subscribe to the youtube channel.
